this paper is the most beautiful paper i’ve ever bought (or seen). it’s all handmade in nepal and every piece is different (one of the only types of paper at ny central that you can choose which ones in particular you want, but totally reasonably priced! $4 for a big sheet!).
they make it is by putting a chemical on the paper that resists absorbing the actual paint, but will pick up the dye in the paint. they dip the paper into giant paint trays and create these amazing tones and textures. haven’t decided whether i’m going to print something on them or turn them into some kind of origami sculpture. theyre so beautiful already!
